It’s all about the future.
Nothing you do today can change the past, and the present is but a series of rapidly passing instants destined to become the past. So, the only time you have any chance of influencing is the future.
You eat a balanced diet, to insure good health – in the future.
You exercise your body and mind, so that both will serve you well – in the future.
Smart choices about relationships find their result – in the future.
In sharing his vision this Sunday for a new Youth Facility, my pastor—Joe Bubar, encouraged his congregation to “reach into the future and make a difference.”
What a great image that paints in my mind.
You reach for something that’s not quite within your grasp. You stretch. Hang off a ledge, straining to grab just a finger hold.
Reaching reveals a desire. You never reach for something you don’t want.
If you want something it only makes sense to reach into the future to make arrangements for realization of your desire when the future comes to pass.
What are you reaching for?
